Reimagining STEM Experience - The STEM & Sports Edition
Date: Tuesday, April 1, 2025

Event Details:
In partnership with the Office of Teaching and Learning | Department of STEM in Chicago Public Schools, this dynamic event will bring together STEM partners, families, educators, and students for an engaging experience. Attendees will explore the exciting intersection of sports and STEM through interactive activations, hands-on exhibits, and immersive activities designed to inspire curiosity and learning.
Volunteer Duties:
Volunteers will assist with STEM activations, hands-on exhibits, and interactive activities that connect sports and STEM. They will help engage students, families, and educators while fostering a fun and educational environment. By providing guidance and encouragement, volunteers will play a key role in sparking curiosity and enthusiasm for STEM.
STEMCON 2025
Date: Saturday, April 26, 2025

Event Details:
In partnership with College of DuPage STEMCON, join us for an exciting, hands-on STEM experience! From soldering and robots to microorganisms and fossils, students will explore a world of discovery through interactive exhibits and in-person workshops. Designed for middle school students, this event offers an engaging way to ignite curiosity and foster a love for STEM.
Volunteer Duties:
Volunteers will help facilitate hands-on STEM activities, guiding students through interactive workshops and exhibits. They will provide support, answer questions, and encourage curiosity in STEM. By fostering a positive learning environment, volunteers will inspire creativity and a passion for discovery.
After School STEM Lab at Hyde Park

Location: Southside STEM Station/Hyde Park Labs
Event Details:
This after school STEM program will foster engagement in STEM fields through interactive STEM experiments, enhance critical thinking, creativity, collaboration among students, and build STEM confidence, and connect students with STEM professionals and educators.
Volunteer Duties:
Volunteers will assist with hands-on STEAM activities, mentor students, and promote a supportive learning environment. Your role will help encourage leadership, innovation, and interest in STEM fields.
Science Class at Grimes Middle School
Date: Multiple Dates
Time: 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM
Location: Grimes Middle School
Event Details:
Help 6th and 7th graders at Grimes Middle School explore genetics in our Fruit DNA STEM Program. This fun, hands-on activity will allow students to extract DNA from fruit, inspiring curiosity and excitement for STEM. Volunteers will guide students through the activity while fostering a positive learning environment.
Volunteer Duties:
Volunteers will assist students in extracting DNA from fruit, explain basic genetics concepts, and ensure safe participation. You will also provide guidance, answer questions, and encourage curiosity about STEM.
After School Program w/ Lara Academy Pink Panthers

Event Details:
Join the Pink Panthers afterschool club at Lara Academy to empower middle school girls through activities focused on sisterhood, community service, and leadership. Volunteers will support an environment that fosters growth and confidence while engaging students in meaningful activities.
Volunteer Duties:
Volunteers will help facilitate activities, mentor students, and encourage teamwork and empowerment. You’ll play a key role in inspiring and supporting young girls in a positive and uplifting space.
STEM Program with Affirm Leadership Christian Academy

Support Affirm Leadership Christian Academy's mission to empower underrepresented girls through STEAM and Architecture education. This program integrates Christian values, business, and the arts while offering students exposure to STEM careers. Volunteers will engage with students in activities that inspire creativity and growth.

Girls STEAM Celebration

Celebrate STEAM with Building Bridges Inc. and the Homewood Science Center at Prairie State College! This event will inspire 6th-12th graders through hands-on activities, innovation, and mentorship. Volunteers will play a vital role in showcasing the exciting possibilities within STEAM fields.
